We are reaching out to provide you with an update regarding the Financial Management Modernization program timeline.

In May, we announced a planned extension of the project go-live date. Since then, the program team has:

  • Finalized the new Common Chart of Accounts (CCOA) segment values,
  • Assessed the remediation requirements for Jaggaer (Gateway), Concur, and UCPath,
  • Selected a platform for a new data warehouse,
  • Completed data collection for a workforce assessment, and
  • Made significant progress converting data and configuring the Oracle Financials Cloud (OFC) environment to reflect the desired functionalities for our campus

These and other efforts have prepared us to begin testing and initial training activities in early 2024.

With these considerations in mind, we have selected a revised go-live date for Oracle Financials Cloud at UCSB: July 2025.

Key factors driving this decision include:

  • Sufficient Testing: The extended timeline will ensure we have the bandwidth to rigorously test OFC and related systems with the campus community.
  • Departmental Reporting Needs: It's paramount that reporting functions meet the needs of faculty and departments. This extension will allow the project team to better understand and address specific reporting requirements for our campus.
  • Training Program Deployment: We believe that a successful transition to OFC depends on providing sufficient training for our community. The extended timeline ensures we can develop and deploy a comprehensive training program tailored to the campus' diverse needs.

We appreciate the patience and understanding displayed by the campus community. We remain steadfast in our dedication to bringing a state-of-the-art financial management system to UCSB, and we're excited about the positive changes this will usher in for our campus.

Please join the FMM team on Tuesday, October 17 for the “FMM Walkabout: Financial Modernization in Motion,” an open-house-style event to showcase the Oracle Financials Cloud (OFC) implementation project. The event will be open to guests from 2-4 p.m. at Corwin Pavilion in the University Center. At the Walkabout, you will visit different stations to learn about key changes and benefits of each component of the new financial system. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions, provide feedback, and learn more about upcoming training efforts. Refreshments will be provided, and there will be an opportunity to win prizes.

Thank you for your ongoing support. We will continue to update the campus community as we progress toward our go-live date.
